“Thank you Emmanuel International Malawi” says Maxwell
I am Maxwell Thomson and I hail from Manyungwa village Traditional Authority Mwambo Zomba. I am the sixth of 8 children of Mr. and Mrs. Harawa. When I was in standard 2, my father passed away and this made us encounter different problems including spending hungry nights and wearing torn clothes. My mother does her best to provide for the family, such that I went on with my education.
Due to poverty, I had to repeat my standard 8 class as I had no one to pay for my secondary school fees and provide me with a school uniform. This forced me to move to the city in hope that I will find piece works to help with my education problems, as well as provide for my family. This did not help either, rather just brought more problems.
Upon hearing about my problems, and all personal efforts one of my distant relatives offered to pay for my secondary school fees, as well as provide all the necessary items. Unfortunately, when I got into form 2, she passed away. This was a major blow to me as I had no one to depend on. Little by little I still soldiered on through the small work-pieces I would get.
When I was in form 4, I heard about Emmanuel International Malawi. I made a plan to approach the management of this organization. Upon hearing my story, the Country Director, Mr. Charles Mukiwa promised to help me by providing all the requirements for my education. I am happy to say that with the help of Emmanuel International, I obtained my MSCE certificate with good grades, and I have been selected to pursue a course in teaching at Chiradzulu Teachers Training College. To ensure I excel in my studies, the organization has presented me with an HP I5 laptop computer.
This has boosted my morale and I am very thankful to Emmanuel international Malawi. God bless them as they continue helping the poor.
