News from Mpoola Bee-Keeping Group
Emmanuel International, through it’s Njira Project-Agriculture sector, has been promoting beekeeping as one of the sure ways of ensuring financial resilience among the project beneficiaries. By the end of April 2018, farmers from Mpoola had their 20 bee hives occupied. In the month of May, the group was ready to harvest the honey from the hives. It is worth reporting that the group harvested honey from 10 hives on 15th May 2018 and got 14 litres (20 kg) honey. Through initial sales of the honey, the group sold 40 bottles (20 bottles of 500g each and 20 bottles of 350g each) and realised K100, 000 .00 (One hundred thousand kwacha).
