Agnes (Not her real Name) is a 16 year old girl from Mpulura village, GVH Mbwabwa, TA Nyambi. She is in standard 6 at Unangu Primary school and she attributes her growing interest in education to Emmanuel International Malawi under UNICEF project through Children Corner and persistent encouragement by a mentor of the area (Madalo Paulo).
The girl comes from a village which seems to be isolated and child marriages are seen to be a norm. However, Agnes Willard is exceptional; she is always committed to her education and participates actively in children corner activities at Nampina CC. Her parents comfirmed to the technician (Mr Mtemanyama) that their daughter is so encouraging and they vowed to support her education despite economic challenges. She wants to be a nurse upon finishing her education. Below is a photo of Agnes Willard.
