Here are some of the areas we focus on under the Gender & Child Protection sector as one of our Thematic areas
Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response
we conduct awareness campaigns and provide education on preventing gender-based violence (GBV) and offer support services for survivors of GBV, including counseling, legal assistance, and referral to appropriate services
Empowerment of Women and Girls
we implement initiatives aimed at empowering women and girls through education, vocational training, and economic opportunities to increase their independence and reduce their vulnerability to exploitation and abuse
Support for Vulnerable Children
We provide support for orphans and vulnerable children, including those affected by HIV/AIDS. This support can include access to education, health care, nutritional support, and psychosocial services
Collaboration with Stakeholders
EI Malawi collaborates with government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to enhance gender and child protection efforts through joint initiatives, sharing best practices, and coordinating responses to gender-based violence and child protection issues.
Legal Assistance and Advocacy
We provide legal assistance to women and children who are victims of violence and abuse and also advocate for stronger laws and policies to protect the rights of women and children
Monitoring and Reporting
EIM establishes systems for monitoring and reporting cases of gender-based violence and child abuse to ensure that incidents are properly documented and that appropriate actions are taken.
