EI Malawi in WaSH Services

Through water and sanitation initiatives, We aim to improve public health, reduce waterborne diseases, and enhance the overall quality of life for the communities we serve

provide clean water and rehabilitate sanitation facilities

EI Malawi engages in a range of water and sanitation initiatives aimed at improving access to clean water and proper sanitation facilities.

Mobilize communities to eliminate open defecation

Here are some of the areas we focus on under the Education sector as one of our Thematic areas

Water Supply Systems

To ensure that communities have access to safe and reliable sources of water, we construct and rehabilitate water supply systems such as boreholes, wells, and rainwater harvesting systems

Sanitation Facilities

We build and improve sanitation facilities, including latrines and toilets, in schools, health centers, and communities to help in reducing open defecation and improve overall hygiene

Water Quality Testing and Treatment

we conduct water quality testing to ensure that water sources are safe for drinking and When necessary, we implement water treatment solutions, such as chlorination or filtration, to improve water quality.

Advocacy and Policy Support

we engage in advocacy efforts to influence water and sanitation policies at the local and national levels working with government agencies and other stakeholders to promote policies that support access to clean water and sanitation for all.

Sustainable Practices

to ensure the long-term availability and quality of water resources, we promote sustainable water and sanitation practices, such as the use of eco-friendly latrines and the protection of water sources from contamination

Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS)

By utilizing the CLTS approach to mobilize communities to eliminate open defecation, communities are encouraged to build and use their own sanitation facilities.
